Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E8 - Jerry
“One day, everyone was a skeleton. Then, Jerry came.”
Princess Bubblegum spoke those ominous words to Simon, Cake, and Fionna to explain what happened to the Land of Ooo in this desolate and lifeless universe. (Okay, it was technically BMO who said that.) After being inspired by the story of how Simon Petrikov and Betty Grof fell in love, the little miracle robot decided to make a noble (yet ultimately fruitless) sacrifice for our heroes. With the intent of telling Jerry the sad news that BMO literally melted down, our crew discovers the horrifying secret secret behind this reality. Simon uses Jerry (AKA the Lich, AKA The Last Scholar of Golb) as a magical battery to return Fionna and Cake to their homeworld stored inside his head, but thoughts of his beloved Betty also open a portal to Golb - right as the Scarab arrives to finish his job. Episode 8 of Fionna & Cake was a dark but wildly funny ride!

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E7 - The Star
Переглядів 55 тис.8 місяців тому
Vampire World is scary to Fionna Campbell, and she’s right to be scared in a world where even the hero Billy (who fought a bear) was sucked dry. Cake the Cat is really feeling herself though, and has no fear even when facing the Vampire King. Simon realizes his worth as a parent and sees what a bad dad could have done to Marceline, while back in Fionna’s universe, Gary Prince also saves Marshal...
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E6 - The Winter King
Переглядів 109 тис.10 місяців тому
The Winter King was a frosty wad for 100 years until his reign was ended by a magic-draining kiss from Fionna that turned him into dust. Simon Petrikov is vindicated, and all is well. Except that Simon still thinks he can get cursed the correct way, and Fionna is only just starting to realize the tragedy that has followed the group’s wake as they hop across worlds. Episode 6 of Fionna & Cake st...
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E5 - Destiny

We return to Farmworld 12 years into the future in the enthralling episode “Destiny.” Big Destiny has a family, with Little Destiny shaping up to be his successor, if not for her secret relationship with Jay, the son of a rugged Finn Mertens, who now takes care of his five children after his partner (which is practically confirmed to have been the Farmworld version of Huntress Wizard) had died....
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E4 - Prismo the Wishmaster

The 4th episode of the Fionna & Cake series, named after Prismo the Wishmaster, was both extremely funny and extremely sad. Many of our characters are depressed, Simon even considered giving up, while Fionna & Cake finally realize their entire world may be on the cusp of being eradicated. Adventure Time pulls off an impeccable balancing act of keeping harmony between the humor and sorrow. Also,...

Cake the Cat warps into the Land of Ooo and chaos ensues for the innocent bystanders who shop at the local market for cursed fruit and whatnot. I had fun watching Cake and Squirrel enact silly hijinks together before Fionna beats up everyone to save her beloved pet/roommate. Episode 3 of Fionna & Cake was very enjoyable, but did not pack as many mind-blowing moments as the episodes surrounding ...
Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake Review - S1E2 - Simon Petrikov

“Simon Petrikov” was an amazing follow-up to “Fionna Campbell.” This episode explored the troubled and depressed psyche of Simon who feels alone and out of place in the Land of Ooo. We also got to see Choose Goose (now evil from Coconteppi’s ichor), Dirt Beer Guy, TV, and of course, none other than Finn Mertens (who got jacked)! The forest environment in this episode was also among my favorites...

Never have I been as invested in the genderswapped residents of an alternate reality Land of Ooo like I am now! The first episode of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake was an absolute hook, line, and sinker; I loved it, and it completely turned me around on the concept of having a Fionna and Cake miniseries (and this was before I even watched the second episode, which was also incredible)! I am be...
Jujutsu sorcerers don't need to eat, drink, or use the bathroom...

Spoilers from Shibuya Arc. Very minor spoilers from Culling Game Arc. In an interview, Gege Akutami (the mangaka of Jujutsu Kaisen) revealed an unused idea for the series: jujutsu sorcerers can opt to bypass the need to eat, drink, urinate, and defecate. A gastrointestinal cursed energy based 'bug' would be inserted into a sorcerer's stomach (through the mouth, one would hope). Presumably, urin...
Adventure Time is Coming Back with Fionna & Cake

Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake is a new series consisting of 10 episodes, and is expected to be out this autumn (release date has been officially revealed to be August 31, after this video was uploaded). A surprising aspect of this spin-off is the two titular genderbent leads will be teaming up with Simon Petrikov (who is now free from his Ice King persona) for a multiverse-hopping adventure. Th...
Infinity Train Review: Book 4 - Duet (Part 1)

Infinity Train has unfortunately been cancelled at Book 4, despite the storyboards for Season 5 already having been created (after a movie pitch was rejected!). Then, to pour gasoline in the wound and light it ablaze, the series was completely removed from HBO Max and Cartoon Network due to dumb executive decisions from the Warner-Discovery merger. All hope is not lost, but it will be a massive...
Adventure Time: Distant Lands Megareview - Together Again (Part 1)

While death splits our heroes apart, death is also what brings them back together. The Adventure Time: Distant Lands special "Together Again” reunited Finn the Human and Jake the Dog for a chthonic quest to preserve the cycle of reincarnation and save the Dead Worlds from the son of Life and Death (and the Lich Hand he unwisely teamed up with). This enthralling tear-jerking special feels like i...
Godzilla vs. Kong Could’ve Been Decent

Godzilla vs. Kong was my favorite out of Legendary’s MonsterVerse movies simply because the kaiju combat was more fun than in the previous films. While the monster battles completely failed to adequately portray the awe-inspiring scale of these gigantic titans (Shin Godzilla pulled this off exceptionally well, on the other hand), the fights were nonetheless quite enjoyable (embracing the wackin...
Vampires, Marceline Abadeer, & Tarot Cards - Adventure Time: Stakes Miniseries Analysis

The vampires of Adventure Time were based on tarot cards, and the influence of the Major Arcana creeps deep into the Stakes miniseries. Those whom Marceline fights against represent characteristics and elements in her own life, an...

45:50 it would also be cool to see when the creatures were dying/being stunned (by BMO’s song) they would rapidly contort into a bunch of random things, instead of just putting their hands were there ears would be (if they had any)

I think PB’s words meant: To grow anew is to destroy and start again from an entirely different perspective. At the seashell’s centre: A spiralling seashell looks like an infinite labyrinth with the path shrinking. The cornucopia’s smallest door: Cornucopias represent overflowing abundance and the smallest door is the humble entrance to the cornucopia (its shape is flared) This also matches with Finn’s journey. He goes through the trials and completely resets (shrinking shape of the shell) and finally finishes the hall of egress without knowing (seemingly infinite spiral of the shell) as well as growing and seeing the acid trip that is the final room. (shape of the cornucopia and also the symbolism of the cornucopia)

In regards to the lady bug that cheer's up jack at the end of the episode, we the audience only saw how significant it was to ashi. If we the viewer are shown Jack & ashis relationship in its entirety & we know as much as Jack then jack never saw or got told the connection ashi has to Lady bug's. Theres no connection for Jack to understand why ashi would like lady bugs so much. So i guess Jack just got cheered up by a lady bug because he just likes lady bug!?🤣

This episode was so good but a scene I really love, is when it pans to show a bunch of characters like flame princess and even Jake lying severely injured on the ground, despite how powerful they have proved to be by the rest of the series. It shows how powerful golb is and how real of a threat everyone takes him as. The scene where everyone is walking toward golb and singing is also great, because it perfectly incapsulates the severity of the situation and how everyone comes together. Everything about this episode is great, I think it’s a 10/10.

Third, wildly different theory: Most gum-beings are like Neddy. He and the tree exist in symbiosis: gum-beings are basically sentient plants once they find some kind of sustenance. PB, having humanlike intelligence, is the weird one.

You want to know something really dumb? I was an avid pirater of the show, often watching new episodes in 3 minute segments while they were fresh before those videos got inevitably taken down. Or I’d watch them through react channels mostly because I didn’t have a good finger on the pulse of when new episodes were gonna come out, despite being in the fanbase (I was also 16 or 17 so school got in the way). However, when I finished Can’t Go Back, I was so eager to get to the next episode that I didn’t realize I accidentally clicked on the preview for what would be “Now We’re Only Falling Apart.” And the very first thing that that preview shows is Amethyst freaking out and saying “Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond?!” To say I was upset at somehow spoiling myself was an understatement…I laughed because like most people, I didn’t take the Rose/Pink theory seriously. But I couldn’t enjoy the episode after that, and unfortunately to this day, I still have trouble liking the episode on a strictly personal level. It’s one of the best season 5 had to offer but I’ll never get that bitter taste out of my mouth since I ruined the experience for myself somehow

hello read this message For a long time I have been very deep in adventure time lore (4-5 years). i love people like you who make adventure time videos. everything from hours-long essays to timelines and analyses. I have so many ideas for topics that would be very interesting for you to dive into if you lack ideas. - an analysis about the book: marcelines super secred scrab book/ the enchiridion. - u missed so much lore about marceline and bubblegum 1000+ ( no hate but its a video u need to go back to cus there is so much to discus) - maybe the adventure time comics? I know they are not canon, but i stil think the concebs are worth making some videos about. - the movie and series that are coming - Finn ind obsidian vs Finn in Fiona and cake. he changed so much and i think it would be cool to dedicate a full video about it - JAKES DEATH!!!! Maybe try to make a timeline. ( Just with ur own speculations, cus we cant be sure about it) That was just some of the things i had in mind. And there is even more lore to cover. Sorry for my bad English its not my first language. Love ur videos

I've said this, uh, probably close to 10 years ago, and I'll repeat it now: your videos are an integral part of the AT experience for me, it just wouldn't be the same without them. I love your analytical skills, I love your delivery, and the visuals you choose. I doubt I'll ever be able to produce the animated series I've been plotting out for years, but the idea of it ever being reviewed by you never fails to put a smile on my face.
